NASA’s SpaceX Crew-12 team members Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev will discuss their return from the International Space Station at a press conference on Wednesday, September 16, at 2:45 p.m. EDT. The conference can be watched live on NASA’s website.

Crew-12 contributed to hundreds of experiments alongside the members of Expeditions 74/75. The research included developing cardiovascular treatments through the study of bacteria that cause pneumonia, producing intravenous fluids on demand for future space missions, and examining the effects of physical characteristics on blood flow during spaceflight.

The team will depart the station following the arrival of Crew-13 and a brief handover period. Mission teams will assess weather conditions at landing sites off the coast of California before the return. People have been living and working continuously aboard the station for more than 25 years; the station continues to serve as a research and preparation hub for missions to the Moon and Mars.
