Google is testing a new version of its AI agent CC to help families organize their daily lives. CC, which previously connected with Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive and the web to provide users with a “Your Day Ahead” briefing, was added to the Gemini app in May under the name “Daily Brief.” As user requests focused on household management, the tool was redesigned to serve as a shared assistant for families.
CC now has its own Google account and uses separate permissions for data while working on tasks with family members. Each member can forward information such as school events, sports practices, club activities, birthday invitations or doctor’s appointments to CC’s email address, or choose to automatically share messages from specific senders. CC can also suggest adding new senders on a weekly basis. The system currently allows up to six family members to share information and collaborate.
The agent can track important dates and to-dos, adding them to a shared calendar or task list. For example, it can transfer orthodontist appointments, school teacher workdays and similar announcements to the calendar. It can also handle tasks such as filling out permission forms or event registration PDFs, preparing shopping lists for school needs, planning weekly meals, calculating driving times between events and creating shared Docs or Sheets. CC, which asks for missing information, also updates the group memory for future use.
According to Google, CC operates on an isolated cloud computer powered by Gemini and the company’s agent infrastructure called Antigravity. The experiment is limited to users who live in the United States, have a personal Gmail account and are 18 or older. As a result, older children cannot use the service, and school email accounts are not supported. Existing CC users will receive upgrade invitations in the coming days, while new users will be able to join the waiting list.

CC’s approach to managing family coordination through a single account requires users to determine, through their permission preferences, to what extent personal email and calendar data will be included in the shared workflow. The emphasis on separate permissions and an isolated cloud computer highlights the framework for how data access is limited, particularly in the processing of children’s school, health and event information. On the other hand, the fact that the service is limited to adult personal Gmail users and a specific region means that many households will not be able to benefit directly. The lack of support for school accounts also creates a separate obstacle to transferring information from educational institutions into the shared setup. The system remains dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the sources family members choose to share.
