A live-action series for Ravenloft, set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe, is being developed for Netflix. According to Deadline, Alfonso Cuarón is attached to the project as executive producer, while John August and Hasbro Entertainment are serving as writer and executive producers. The series will bring to the screen the famous campaign setting, updated earlier this year with Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. At the center of the story will be the past of the vampire Dark Lord Strahd von Zarovich, who transforms from a tragic antihero into one of Dungeons & Dragons’ best-known villains, spanning power, love, obsession and immortality. Deadline also reported that Netflix is no longer developing the live-action Forgotten Realms series from Shawn Levy and Drew Crevello.
