DPF figures

While Fiat’s product range in Türkiye expands beyond the Egea with the electric 500e, 600 and Grande Panda, maintenance requirements vary according to the engine and technology.

  • Maintenance history is important in older 1.3 and 1.6 Multijet engines. In older, high-mileage vehicles, the EGR, DPF, injectors and turbo should be checked; with short-distance use, DPF loading and soot buildup should also be monitored.

Multijet progression

A drop in pulling power, increased consumption or irregular running should not be ignored.

  • In the 1.3 Multijet, chain rattle during cold starts may require inspection of the timing chain and tensioner system. Persistent or worsening noise requires expert inspection.

Fire measurements

  • In 1.4 Fire engines, oil consumption and the ignition system should be monitored, particularly at high mileage. In LPG vehicles, the valves and valve seats should also be checked; in the event of misfiring or performance loss, replacing only the spark plugs should be avoided.

Multijet data

  • Short-distance and low-speed use is unfavorable for the EGR and DPF in the 1.6 Multijet. The warning light, loss of performance and changes in consumption should not be ignored.
  • In the electric 500e, the battery, charging system, socket and cables should be monitored; the manufacturer’s recommendations should be followed instead of continuously charging to 100 percent.
