Anthropic has introduced Claude Haiku 5.5, the newest member of the Claude 5.5 family. The company’s fastest small model, it was developed for speed-focused, cost-sensitive tasks such as summarization, classification, live customer support, and sub-agent work in coding.
The model is 75% cheaper on average than Haiku 4.5. Pricing:
- Up to 100 thousand tokens: $0.10 per 1 million input tokens, $0.50 for output
- Above 100 thousand: $0.50 and $2.50
The model, which scored 72.4% on OSWorld 2.1, reached 39.2% on Terminal-Bench 4.0; Haiku 4.5 had remained at 15.7% on OSWorld. Haiku 5.5 is the first Haiku model with an adjustable effort level.
Sonnet 5.5’s cache read fee has also dropped from $0.20 to $0.10. The model is available on Claude Platform, AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. Haiku 5.5 is the third model added to the family in the past month, ahead of the company’s planned IPO.
