Amazon’s Prime Video platform is rolling out an AI-powered feature that matches actors’ mouth movements to “dubbed by humans” voice-overs. For now, the feature is available only in the English dub of the German series Maxton Hall. Prime Video plans to expand it to “additional productions” in the future. The company says it uses AI together with visual-effects technology to synchronize translated dialogue with lip movements. Meta and YouTube also recently launched AI-powered automatic dubbing for content creators, as well as a lip-sync option that creates the impression that the speakers are speaking in the viewer’s preferred language.
