The Singapore-based maritime technology startup MagicPort brings together vessel tracking, document and expense management, and task coordination in port operations on a single platform. Founded in 2021 by Azerbaijani entrepreneurs Ali Gara and Tural Aliyev, the company focuses on port call processes such as loading, unloading, provisioning and inspections. Gara previously worked at BP, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the International Finance Corporation, while CTO Aliyev was a co-founder of ITCITY and developed DiVOC during the COVID-19 period. The platform aims to reduce visibility issues caused by disparate systems, email, messaging apps and spreadsheets, automate workflows and analyze data using artificial intelligence. MagicPort serves more than 300 companies in more than 80 countries. In July 2026, the company announced a 3 million dollar pre-seed round joined by INMerge Ventures, Sturgeon Capital, Hustle Fund, Everywhere Ventures, Transport Capital, Caucasus Ventures and Scorpa Pranedya. Caucasus Ventures is among the early investors in the platform, which also provides maritime intelligence.
Why it matters
MagicPort’s approach responds to the need to bring operational information scattered across different tools during a port call into a single workspace. This directly concerns the flow of information and the monitoring of tasks for teams tracking vessels, as well as companies handling loading, unloading, bunkering and inspection processes. The platform’s reach of more than 300 companies in more than 80 countries shows that the solution is not dependent solely on the operations of a single port or region. Following the investment round, the key open question is the extent to which MagicPort can transform data from different systems into a common and usable structure, particularly how AI-powered analyses will translate into day-to-day operations.
