Mitsubishi has introduced its new global flagship Pajero as a rival to the Toyota Land Cruiser 250 Series. The model measures 4,920 mm in length and has a 2,870 mm wheelbase, while its design features a tall, angular profile, T-shaped LED lighting, skid plates, muscular fenders and side grilles bearing Pajero lettering.
Based on the ladder-frame chassis of the L200, the vehicle has an independent double-wishbone suspension at the front and a 5-link solid-axle suspension at the rear. With its settings developed through Dakar Rally experience, the Pajero offers 230 mm of ground clearance. The model’s approach angle was announced as 30.4 degrees, its breakover angle as 22.6 degrees and its departure angle as 25.8 degrees.
The Pajero is powered by a 2.4-liter single-turbo diesel engine with variable geometry. Producing 480 Nm of torque, the engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Super-All Wheel Control four-wheel drive with Active Yaw Control and 7 different terrain modes is offered as standard equipment.
The three-row cabin provides seating for up to 7 people. While soft-touch materials, leather upholstery and black details are used in the interior, higher trim levels feature dual 14.3-inch screens integrated into a single panel. At entry level, the screens are offered in 12.3-inch form. The model, which will be manufactured in Thailand, is planned to go on sale in Thailand, Japan and Australia by March 2027.
