Nvidia’s advantage in AI is not limited to GPUs. As AI computing capacity reaches the gigawatt scale, data orchestration is becoming increasingly important; the company’s Vera Rubin architecture includes the Rubin GPU, as well as the Vera CPU, Groq 3 LPX, and storage and networking components.
According to Nvidia, the Vera CPU provides more than 3 times the improvement in data processing, helping flash storage operate without becoming a bottleneck. OpenAI, meanwhile, is taking a different approach with its Jalapeño chip, aiming to reduce data movement. Competition is thus shifting from GPU production alone to the efficient operation of the entire system; Nvidia appears to be in a strong position in this new field for now.
