Vocci's ring is giving meeting note-taking a new form
A titanium ring on a wooden table

Vocci has developed a ring-shaped device for taking meeting notes. Recording starts when the button on the device is tapped twice and stops with the same action; when the button is held down, users can ask Vocci AI questions while the app is open. An indicator light and vibration motor provide feedback during recording.

Weighing less than six grams, the ring uses titanium on its inner and outer surfaces. Vocci says it can record for eight hours on a single charge. The plastic charging case can charge the ring three times. The device can convert conversations lasting longer than one hour in noisy cafés into mostly accurate transcripts; however, it is not considered equally suitable for short notes.

The app is considered the ring’s weakest point. Longer AI insights can be generated from notes after short recordings. Each recording includes Chat for the main transcript, Highlights for short segments captured by pressing the button during recording, and Notes, which presents a summary of the conversation along with its insights. The Base tab contains transcripts, recordings, and content generated from them; however, this structure is considered unnecessary, and there appears to be no option to start a direct AI chat with session transcripts. The app does not offer direct integration with reminder apps.

The company says users can connect to other assistants through Vocci’s Model Context Protocol (MCP); this option only became visible in the app a few weeks ago. While other meeting note-taking tools are turning toward AI-powered insights and workflow automation, Vocci’s platform is said to not yet be fully developed.

The ring poses a privacy risk for covert recording because it looks like an ordinary piece of jewelry. The recording indicator faces the user; although the company encourages disclosing that a recording is being made, this is said not to be sufficient. Priced at $249, Vocci is more expensive than other note-taking devices such as Plaud or Pocket. The ring is aimed at people who do not want to attach a device to the back of their phone or use a wristband or necklace. The article was published on September 20, 2026.

Why it matters

Vocci’s value in use appears to depend less on the convenience offered by the hardware alone than on how effectively the app transfers recordings into the workflow. While the accuracy and summarization experience expected from short notes are limited, the lack of reminder integration and direct AI chat through transcripts leaves post-meeting tasks to the user. The ring’s jewelry-like appearance creates a privacy issue affecting not only the user but also the other people participating in the conversation, as people nearby may not notice the device during recording. Its higher price than similar note-taking devices also raises questions about whether these shortcomings are justified; the open question is to what extent Vocci will address gaps on the software side and complete its connection with other assistants.
