Philips Hue has developed a module to integrate Nanoleaf’s Hexagon, Triangle and Mini Triangle wall panels into its ecosystem. Available from 3 September 2026, the Philips Hue x Nanoleaf Wall Light Module is priced at $39.99. Supporting Bluetooth, Zigbee and Thread connections simultaneously, the module allows the panels to be used in the Hue app like a full Hue light. This means Hue scenes, automations, switches, color-transition lighting and entertainment features can be applied to the panels. The products will also work with Bridge Pro’s MotionAware and Spatial Aware features.
The module attaches to the panels like Nanoleaf’s own controller; however, the two controllers cannot currently be used together. When the Hue module is attached, Nanoleaf’s dynamic scenes, screen mirroring and music-reactive features, along with the physical controls, are disabled. Philips Hue technology manager George Yianni said that support for using both modules together will arrive within a few months. Once this feature is available, both apps can be used, and the most recent software command will take effect. However, Nanoleaf panels can be controlled from the Hue app; Hue products cannot be controlled from the Nanoleaf app.
The two companies worked on the integration for 18 months and opted for direct collaboration because Matter does not yet support Hue’s dynamic and entertainment features. For now, the integration is limited to Nanoleaf Shapes products; Lines, Blocks and Elements are not supported. Nanoleaf Hexagon and Triangle starter kits and expansions will be sold through www.philips-hue.com from 1 October 2026, with prices starting at $49.99.
Why it matters
This integration allows Nanoleaf Shapes users to connect their existing panels to scenes, automation and entertainment features in the Philips Hue ecosystem; however, Nanoleaf’s dynamic scenes, screen mirroring and music interaction features are not available for now. As a result, the option is more meaningful for those who want to make the Hue app the center of their setup, rather than for users who want to use the capabilities of both systems at the same time. The fact that support is limited to the Hexagon, Triangle and Mini Triangle models means that owners of Lines, Blocks and Elements will not be able to benefit from this integration. Since the two controllers are planned to work together, the key unanswered question is when and under what conditions this feature will be made available. The fact that the module was developed through direct collaboration rather than Matter also shows that existing standards do not meet Hue’s advanced features.
