Aqara unveiled new smart lighting products with Zigbee and Thread support at IFA 2026. The standout product in the lineup, Floor Lamp T1, features a pole-shaped design with LEDs attached to the base instead of a traditional lamp design. The 4.6-foot-tall lamp offers RGBIC lighting and 18 individually controllable zones, projecting colorful light around itself and onto the wall.
For use outside the home, the company also announced permanent smart outdoor lighting with individually addressable LEDs, as well as RGBIC light strings that can be customized in different colors for the holidays and provide warm or cool white light for ambiance.
Aqara’s LED light strip retains the previous model’s 16 million color options while offering multizone control with 18 independent zones in each 3-meter section, enabled by a new chip. The second-generation downlight comes in 4- and 6-inch sizes, with RGB-CCT or RGB-only options. The products work over Thread with Matter-enabled platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. Pricing and release dates were not announced.
Why it matters
The announcements show that Aqara is not limiting its smart lighting products to a single room or use case; different options for indoor, outdoor and holiday decoration are brought together within the same series. The ability to work with Matter-enabled platforms over Thread allows the products to be considered together by users of Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey. Multizone control makes it possible to use the lighting as a system whose different sections can be managed separately, rather than as a single color source. However, since the products’ prices and release dates have not been announced, their accessibility to users and when they can be purchased remain unclear.
