Vivo X Fold 6 will launch in global markets with Android 17

Vivo’s foldable phone Vivo X Fold 6, which went on sale in China in June, is nearing its global release. The international prototype with the model number V2559 was spotted on Geekbench. The listings show that the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 Super processor in the Chinese version will be retained, and that the device uses 12 GB RAM and Android 17. On Geekbench 7.0.0, the phone scored 1,710 points in single-core and 5,977 points in multi-core tests. However, the device is not the final product; software optimizations and configurations may change the results. While the model in China comes with Android 16, the global version is expected to be offered with Vivo’s OriginOS 7 interface. The Chinese version has 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB storage options. It is not known whether different memory and storage options will be offered for the global model. The Geekbench listing only confirms the tested 12 GB configuration.

Why it matters

This listing indicates that Vivo may retain the core hardware platform when bringing its foldable phone from China to other markets; however, this does not mean that the final specifications of the model that will go on sale have been confirmed. The information about Android 17 and OriginOS 7 raises the possibility of a software experience different from that of the Chinese version; therefore, looking only at the processor and performance scores may not be sufficient when comparing the two versions. Since the Geekbench results come from a prototype, the performance data should be used only to a limited extent as a reference for the final device. The main open question is which memory and storage options the global model will be offered with; the current listing shows only the configuration with 12 GB RAM.
