astragon Entertainment and Grip Studios have announced the new game in the Police Simulator series for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC (Steam). Set to launch in 2027, the game will have players respond to more than 50 missions and calls in the American metropolis of Faremont City; the game will offer single-player and cross-platform multiplayer modes.

Players will create their characters and unlock new areas, vehicles, equipment and missions as they progress through their careers. Different police vehicles and equipment can be used in cases ranging from minor violations to robberies, vehicle theft and armed threats. For the first time in the series, K9 police dog gameplay will also be included.

Why it matters

This announcement takes the series’ police duties beyond responding to individual cases by building them around career progression and the gradual unlocking of content. From the player’s perspective, the change is not limited to the addition of new missions; character, vehicle, equipment and area choices will take shape over time, while the cross-platform multiplayer structure will allow players on different systems to share the same experience. The addition of K9 gameplay stands out as a new element that diversifies response methods and is of interest to both followers of the series and those looking for the option to play together. However, the announcement does not explain how this progression system will affect mission replayability or how the multiplayer experience will work.
