US-based Lyte, which develops AI technologies that enable robots to perceive their surroundings, raised $165 million in a Series C funding round led by Maverick Silicon. Fidelity Management & Research Company, Atreides Management, Key1 Capital and Ora Global also participated in the round. Founded in 2021 and emerging from stealth in 2025, the company has reached total funding of $272 million and a valuation of $1.6 billion.
Lyte will use the funding to scale the production of its perception chips and sensor platform, develop its AI technologies, and expand its robotics and industrial applications. The company’s LyteVision platform combines cameras, high-resolution imaging systems and inertial sensors to provide robots with lower-latency, accurate and reliable perception data.
Why it matters
This funding shows that Lyte is not merely a software startup, but has evolved into a technology company seeking to scale the production of its perception chips and sensor platform. Allocating the funding to production scale-up indicates an effort to move the platform beyond laboratory-level development and into broader robotics and industrial applications. The approach, which uses cameras, high-resolution imaging systems and inertial sensors together, addresses the latency, accuracy and reliability of the data robots receive from their surroundings at the same time. For this reason, the development brings to the fore the question of the extent to which Lyte can turn its technology into viable products for robot manufacturers and teams developing industrial applications. The key issue left open after the round is which concrete applications this scaling plan will translate into.
