Andreessen Horowitz’s timeline

US-based Cognition raised 2 billion dollars in a Series E funding round co-led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Accel, Founders Fund, General Catalyst and Avenir. Founded in 2023 by Scott Wu, Steven Hao and Walden Yan, the company’s valuation rose to 48 billion dollars. Cognition will use the investment to develop its artificial intelligence models and Devin coding assistant, scale its computing infrastructure and grow.

Goldman Sachs’s trajectory

Devin supports developers with coding, debugging, testing, codebase analysis and project work, and can complete some tasks independently. The company is training open-source-based models to reduce its dependence on third-party models such as OpenAI and Anthropic. Its customers include Mercedes-Benz, NASA, Goldman Sachs and Citi.
