Circular’s new smart rings feature contactless payments and vibration alerts
The titanium smart ring in its charging case

Circular has announced its new Ring 3 smart ring series, following Ring 2. The series consists of two models: the Ring 3 Pro, which retains health tracking features, and the smaller, lighter Ring 3 Slim. Both models feature vibrating alerts for alarms, medication reminders and guided breathing exercises, as well as an NFC chip enabling contactless payments without using a phone or wallet.

The Ring 3 Pro has a thinner design than the previous model and a titanium construction in its inner and outer sections for improved durability. The gold, rose gold, silver and black color options are retained. While battery life has increased from seven days to 12 days, the wireless charging case can provide five to six recharges without needing to be plugged in.

The Ring 3 Slim offers up to 10 days of use with its smaller battery and uses biocompatible epoxy instead of titanium on its inner section. Although it includes PPG sensors that measure heart rate and blood oxygen, it does not have an ECG sensor or AFib detection. Both models track skin temperature, daily activities, sleep and HRV. Pricing was not disclosed; sales are expected to begin in early 2027.

Why it matters

The key distinction between the two models in the series will require users who want a smaller and lighter body and those seeking more comprehensive heart tracking to choose different options. The lack of ECG and AFib detection in the Ring 3 Slim shows that this model does not offer the same scope of health features as the Ring 3 Pro; therefore, the choice will not be based solely on size and battery life. Contactless payment, medication reminders and vibration alerts turn the ring into a tool that can be used independently of a phone in daily life. However, the lack of disclosed pricing leaves it unclear what cost the differences in features between the two models will represent for consumers; the fact that sales are set to begin in early 2027 also adds to the factors that must be awaited for evaluation.
