Contactless payments will be possible with Circular Ring 3 without needing a phone
Contactless payment with a smart ring

Circular has added the Ring 3 Pro and Ring 3 Slim models to its smart ring lineup following the Ring 2, introduced at CES 2025. The Ring 3 Pro retains atrial fibrillation (AFib) detection with advanced health sensors, while the smaller and lighter Ring 3 Slim offers more limited health data. Both models feature vibration alerts for alarms, medication reminders and guided breathing exercises, as well as an NFC chip for contactless payments. The thinner Ring 3 Pro, with titanium inner and outer sections, is available in gold, rose gold, silver and black. Battery life has increased from up to seven days on the Ring 2 to up to 12 days; the wireless charging case can recharge the ring five to six times.

Why it matters

The new series shows that smart rings are evolving into a device category that supports daily routines and facilitates payments alongside health tracking. The model options require users to choose between more comprehensive health data and a smaller, lighter design; this distinction could be decisive for people considering the ring for long-term use. The increase in battery life and the additional capacity provided by the charging case could change the charging frequency experience of those who use the device regularly. However, the text does not explain which measurements the Ring 3 Slim’s limited health data covers, or the pricing and sales conditions for the two models.
