Budget-friendly vivo T5 announced with 144 Hz display
Smartphone with a curved display

vivo has introduced its budget-friendly T5 model. Featuring a 6.83-inch 3D curved AMOLED display, a 144 Hz refresh rate and 3000 nit peak brightness, the phone is powered by the Dimensity 7500 Turbo processor. The device comes with 6/8/12 GB RAM, 128/256 GB of storage and Android 16-based OriginOS 6.

The vivo T5 features a 50 MP main camera with OIS support, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 32 MP front camera. Its 7050 mAh battery supports 44W charging. The phone will go on sale in India on September 9; its starting price will be 370 dollars, while the 12/256 GB version will be priced at 529 dollars.

Why it matters

By offering a high refresh rate, strong brightness and a large battery in the same device, the vivo T5 provides an option for users comparing choices in the budget segment. The availability of different RAM and storage options, along with two separate price points, shows that the device is aimed at user groups with differing performance and capacity expectations. Its use of Android 16-based OriginOS 6 also makes the phone’s software being up to date part of the purchasing decision. However, since the announced sales plan is limited to India, it remains unclear whether the vivo T5 will be released in other markets and how its pricing will be structured.
