TikTok is bringing voice messages of up to 60 seconds, polls, support for up to 9 photos and Live Photo to comments. While comment polls are being made available globally, creators will be able to create polls with up to 5 options.
The voice comment feature will be gradually rolled out worldwide over the next month only to users aged 18 and over. Voice content will be reviewed by human moderators and automated moderation tools under TikTok’s existing rules. All new features are planned to be made available to everyone within 1 month.
Why it matters
This change transforms the comments section on TikTok from an area limited to short written reactions into a more comprehensive space for interaction where users can express themselves in different ways. The expansion of poll options will allow creators to measure their audiences’ opinions within comments, while support for multiple photos and Live Photo could increase the use of visual responses. Making voice comments available only to users aged 18 and over limits the feature’s reach from the outset; in addition, moderating voice content requires existing moderation processes to cover a new type of content. Therefore, the key issue that remains open for users is how the new formats will be managed in terms of moderation and ease of use while increasing interaction in comments.
Background
TikTok is not a new name in the FikirPilot archive: we published a news article mentioning this name in the last 90 days; that article was dated 25 August 2026.
