New Limits to Take Effect on August 26
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) has decided to raise the transaction amount limits applicable to the Funds Instant and Continuous Transfer (FAST) system. According to the official statement, as of August 26, 2026, the current limit for money transfers and payments made through the Request-to-Pay Overlay Service will be increased from 100 thousand TL to 300 thousand TL.
Updated Limit for QR Code Merchant Payments
The limits for other overlay services within FAST were also updated at the same time. The upper limit for dynamically verified merchant payments made via FAST-TR QR Code, previously set at 250 thousand TL, was raised to 300 thousand TL under the new regulation.
Ecosystem Requirements Taken into Account
The Central Bank said the limit increase was introduced in consideration of users’ strong interest in the FAST system and the dynamic needs of the payment ecosystem. It was stated that the FAST system has become a strong alternative to cash and card payment methods for purchases.
Development of the System from Past to Present
FAST, developed by TCMB, entered service on January 8, 2021. The system enables instant and secure money transfers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Continuously enhanced through overlay services, FAST continues to operate as one of the key components of Türkiye’s digital payment infrastructure.
