Introduction
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Free Passage System (SGS) had been activated at the Akıncı Toll Collection Station operated by KGM. With the system, vehicles will be able to pass through the toll booths without slowing down, stopping or changing lanes; fees will be automatically collected from HGS accounts.
Developments
35 of the 106 toll collection stations operated by KGM have been made compatible with SGS.
Details
The number will rise to 43 by the end of the year once the conversions in Çeşme, Kaynaşlı, İskenderun, Adana East, Adana West, Mersin, Eminlik and Suruç are completed. The system aims to reduce queues, fuel consumption, carbon emissions and the risk of accidents in toll booth areas.
