Apple unveiled the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and foldable iPhone Duo at the launch. The A20 Pro, manufactured using a 2 nm process and set to power the phones, was also announced; it was described as the most powerful iPhone processor.
In Geekbench results, the A20 Pro scored 4,725 in single-core and 12,575 in multi-core performance. The six-core chip consists of 2 performance and 4 efficiency cores, with the performance cores reaching 4.93 GHz. This points to the “Super” cores in Apple M6.
Despite reaching 5.01 GHz, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 was limited to scores of 3,434 and 9,334; the A20 Pro was ahead by approximately 38% and 35%. The Dimensity 9600 Pro scored approximately 3,400 and 12,000. The 10-core Xring O3 in Xiaomi’s Pad 9 Pro Max took the lead in multi-core performance with scores of 3,699 and 14,350.
In the GPU test, the A20 Pro scored 64,069; the increase over the A19 Pro’s score of 45,683 reached 40%.
