Instagram is testing a new “read-only” mode for Plus subscribers. Alessandro Paluzzi, known for his posts about mobile apps, announced the feature on his X account.
When the mode is activated, no trace is left while browsing profiles during the session, and accidental interactions are prevented. In this mode, the following actions cannot be performed:
- Sending likes
- Writing comments
- Sending DMs
- Following the account
- Viewing stories
It is not yet clear whether the feature, currently being tested internally at the company, will be released. If it is released, it is said to be exclusive to Instagram Plus subscribers, which is sold for 55.99 TL per month.
