Porsche has expanded the options list for its fully electric luxury SUV, the Cayenne Electric, for the 2027 model year. The most significant innovation is the electric doors, which enable all four doors to open and close automatically using servo motors. The driver’s door can close when the seat belt is fastened or the brake pedal is pressed; the system stops when it detects an obstacle and can be operated manually in the event of a malfunction.
The wireless charging feature will initially be offered in Germany and other European markets. The system, which starts charging via a dedicated pad, provides power transfer of up to 11 kW and approximately 90% efficiency; safety sensors cut off charging when necessary. The new massage seats offer 16 airbags, 6 sound actuators, 4D sound technology and five programs. The exterior color options will increase to 105, while the updates will also apply to the SUV Coupe. Starting prices will not change; the vehicle will go on sale in Europe at the beginning of 2027.

The expanding options list highlights an equipment approach focused more on personalization and ease of use than on the basic vehicle itself in the Cayenne Electric. The fact that the automatic doors stop when they detect an obstacle and can be operated manually in the event of a malfunction shows that the comfort features were designed alongside everyday-use and safety requirements. Limiting wireless charging initially to Germany and other European markets means that the same equipment package may not be offered simultaneously in all markets.
