Introduction
A new sign has emerged that Apple is working on AirPods with cameras. In a promotional video in the macOS Tahoe 26.7 release candidate, a person wearing AirPods is seen asking Siri to remember the book they see, prompting the “Visual Intelligence” feature to activate.
Developments
The footage was spotted by MacRumors and shared on X.
The cameras on the new AirPods are expected to capture the surroundings in low resolution and transmit the footage to an artificial intelligence system, while Siri analyzes the images.
Details
Although the cameras are not visible in the video, the design resembles the current AirPods Pro models; the stem, however, appears thicker. The claims raise concerns about privacy and surveillance, as well as questions about the device’s potential uses.
