Apple is evaluating options to increase the App Store’s revenue and profit margin while reducing operating costs. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the work, in which CEO John Ternus and Senior Vice President of Services Eddy Cue have influence, could address developer program fees, app review costs and large developers’ use of Apple’s infrastructure, in addition to commissions. No changes have been finalized yet. Gurman said that Phil Schiller’s reluctance to play a role in regulations that could make relations with developers and regulators more difficult was a factor in the Apple Fellow’s departure last week. The report noted that there was no major internal dispute at the company.
