Arduino Pro overview
While flight and driving simulators can be expensive, costs can drop significantly when some parts are sourced and a 3D printer is used. Jason has developed a low-cost H-pattern shifter based on just two electronic components: a joystick similar to the kind found on game controllers and an Arduino Pro Micro. A simple cable connection between the two is enough.
The table in numbers
The components are combined with a prototype housing produced on a 3D printer and a gear knob that provides the H pattern. The final step is installing ready-made software that offers options for different gear configurations. A three-pedal setup with an extruded aluminum frame is also possible; features such as force feedback on the steering wheel can be added.
