The operational role of artificial intelligence in aviation was on the agenda at Webrazzi Summit 2026. At the event held at Wyndham Grand Istanbul Levent, Turkish Technology Senior Director Nahit Yılmaz, answering Arden Papuççiyan’s questions at the panel titled “Sıfıra Yakın Tolerans, Sınırsız Ölçek: Havacılıkta Yapay Zeka,” stated that Türk Hava Yolları operates 1700-1800 daily flights with 550 aircraft in more than 100 countries. The applications are grouped under three headings. Yılmaz noted that artificial intelligence is used for delay prediction and predictive maintenance, and said that these systems are also utilized in the classification of customer feedback. Predictive maintenance is kept limited. He particularly emphasized that in this application, which is restricted to certain aircraft groups, they have developed models that detect abnormal situations and that the final decision remains with humans. His outlook for the future was clear. Yılmaz predicted that physical artificial intelligence will increase over the next five years, and said that the biggest challenge is the accurate transfer of data.
