WhatsApp is developing a “guest calling” feature that will allow people without an account to join voice and video calls via a link. Planned for WhatsApp Web, the feature will not require guests to download the app, create a profile, or verify their phone number; the link can be opened in a desktop browser.
For security, participation in the call will depend on the main user’s approval. The main user will be able to remove guests from the call or end the call. No official release date has been announced for the feature, which is not yet available in beta; it is expected to be made available for open testing in the coming months.
