Volvo Cars plans to launch 13 completely new cars by the end of 2030. Described as the most comprehensive product offensive in its 99-year history, the program will involve seven models developed for Western markets and six for China. The models’ names, body types and launch dates have not yet been announced.

The plan covers fully electric cars as well as third-generation hybrids. Volvo aims for 90% to 100% of its sales in 2030 to consist of fully electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. It has not been specified which of the 13 models will come to Türkiye or what the local sales schedule will be.

Why it matters

The fact that the program is structured around separate product lines for Western markets and China shows that regional needs will become more decisive in Volvo’s global product strategy. Addressing electric cars and third-generation hybrids within the same framework indicates that the company wants to carry out its transition without relying on a single technology. This approach means that the 2030 sales target needs to be assessed not only by the number of new models, but also by the powertrain options with which these models will be offered. For users and the dealer network in Türkiye, the main uncertainty is which of the planned vehicles will be brought to the country and how the local sales schedule will take shape; the fact that the model names and launch dates have not been announced leaves this question open for now.
