Turok: Origins’ release postponed to spring 2027

Saber Interactive has postponed the release of Turok: Origins from autumn 2026 to spring 2027. Alongside the Gamescom 2026 announcement, an extended trailer introducing the game’s story and universe was also released.

Players will control a Turok warrior battling dinosaurs and aliens threatening humanity across different planets. In the game, which can be played solo or with friends, various weapons can be upgraded; the DNA system will allow players to unlock new abilities using samples obtained from enemies and the environment.

Why it matters

While this change requires those awaiting the game to rearrange their release schedules, it does not provide details about the stage of development. The extended trailer shared as part of Gamescom is shaping expectations not only regarding the gameplay but also the story side of the Turok universe. Offering both single-player and co-op options indicates that the experience is targeting different player preferences; the weapon upgrade and DNA systems show that progression will not rely solely on combat, and that samples obtained from the environment and enemies will also influence decisions. However, the reason for the delay and whether the new window will turn into a definitive release date remain unclear.
