Telltale Games and PM Studios announced that The Wolf Among Us Remastered will launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Xbox One, Switch and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The remastered version will tell the story of Bigby Wolf’s murder investigation in Fabletown, while the graphics, animations, audio, resolution, frame rate and user interface will be improved. The five-episode game will also include more than one hour of behind-the-scenes content, interviews, a gallery and deleted scenes.
Why it matters
This version offers an opportunity to approach the game not only from a technical perspective but also through additional material that expands on its production process. The innovations in graphics, animation, audio, resolution, frame rate and user interface bring the question of how the experience will take shape for players using devices from different generations to the forefront. The behind-the-scenes content, interviews, gallery and deleted scenes added to the five-episode main structure, meanwhile, will appeal to those who are more curious about the game’s production process than its narrative world. The game’s availability on numerous platforms means access is not limited to a single hardware group; however, the announcement does not explain to what extent the technical differences between these platforms will be reflected in the player experience.
