Playops Studio tests mobile game ideas with AI agents before developing them. The venture was founded in February 2026 by Gürkan Üstünkar, who has approximately 20 years of experience in B2B software. The studio and publisher, which focuses on hybrid casual games, has six full-time and two part-time employees; it is looking for a new specialist for user acquisition and growth.
Trendscout analyzes signals from YouTube, TikTok, the App Store and Google Play to prepare design documents using OpenAI infrastructure. AssetArchitect turns these into game screens, while QuantUA transforms them into ad tests. The “Fake Door” method uses concept visuals, 16-second videos and web pages before prototyping.
To date, 160 concepts have been tested; 60 have been scheduled for development. Meta ads reached approximately 3 million people.
- Infrastructure: Google Cloud, Supabase, Slack, n8n, Atlassian and GitHub.
- System: 14 active agents and 64 n8n workflows.
Three games were discontinued within two weeks after approximately 300 downloads; three new games are being prepared. The venture is financed by its founder; its revenue plan is based on in-app purchases and advertising.
Why it matters
This approach aims to filter out ideas through smaller-scale trials before moving on to the high-cost production phase of mobile game development. For this reason, it may influence the decision-making process over which projects human resources and development budgets should be allocated to, particularly for studios operating with limited teams. However, since no direct conclusion has been established between broad advertising reach and actual user engagement or revenue, it remains unclear how concepts that perform well in testing will fare within the app. The discontinuation of three games after reaching a certain number of downloads also shows that pre-screening alone does not guarantee commercial success; the key issue to monitor will be the extent to which test data aligns with development and revenue outcomes in the new games.
Term: agent
An artificial intelligence agent is software that calls tools and carries out multi-step tasks to achieve a goal instead of producing a single response.
