Pixel Watch 5, like its predecessor, received a 9 out of 10 in iFixit’s repairability assessment. Despite its IP68 certification, opening the device does not require a heat gun; the latch on the side and a few screws are sufficient.
The back cover is protected by a reusable O-ring seal that provides water resistance instead of adhesive. Color-coded screws and a modular design make it possible to access the watch’s components within minutes. The easy availability of replacement parts also supports the device’s repairability.
