Oppo will offer a Hasselblad-branded triple 200-megapixel camera system on the Find X10 Pro Max, the top model in the Find X10 series it will unveil in China this month. The main, ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto cameras will all use 200-megapixel sensors, and 8K video recording will be possible with all three cameras. The main camera will feature DeepPix technology, a 17 EV dynamic range, an f/1.5 aperture and image stabilization rated at CIPA level 6.5. The 200-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera will offer a 124-degree field of view and an f/2.2 aperture. Oppo said this camera will capture 102 percent more light than the sensor in the Find X9 Pro. The actual image quality will also be determined by sensor size, image processing and lens performance.
Why it matters
The Find X10 Pro Max’s camera approach stands out by bringing high resolution and 8K video capabilities not only to the main camera but also to different shooting angles. This sets the stage for users to expect a more similar level of detail when switching between the main, ultra-wide-angle and periscope telephoto cameras. The increased light capture of the ultra-wide-angle camera also strengthens its performance claims, particularly in wide shots; however, it is not yet known how noticeable this difference will be in practice. How elements such as the Hasselblad collaboration, DeepPix, dynamic range and stabilization work together will be the main area of examination for those evaluating the technical specifications. Sensor size, image processing and lens performance will determine the actual results.
