Capcom announced that Onimusha: Way of the Sword sold more than one million copies on the day of its release. Total sales for the Onimusha series also surpassed 10 million copies. The game was released on September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC; the PC version is available on Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store. The sword-fighting-focused title brings fast-paced and bloody battles back with modern graphics. Players control the young samurai Miyamoto Musashi, who arrives in Kyoto. Clouds of Malice turn the city into a dark region filled with supernatural creatures. Musashi grows stronger by absorbing Genma spirits with the Oni Gauntlet. Historic sites, including Kiyomizu-dera Temple, can be explored in the corrupted Kyoto. Musashi’s plans change due to the supernatural events taking place in the city.
