Netflix Announces Massive Price Hike in Turkey: New Prices Revealed

Netflix increased the prices of all subscription plans in Turkey by rates exceeding 30%. The new monthly fees are as follows:

  • Basic: from 189.99 TL to 259.99 TL
  • Standard: from 289.99 TL to 389.99 TL
  • Premium: from 379.99 TL to 499.99 TL

Following the increase, the lowest monthly subscription fee became 259.99 TL. The 12-month costs were calculated as 3,119.88 TL, 4,679.88 TL and 5,999.88 TL, respectively.

Why it matters

The increase creates a cost change that requires subscribers who use the service regularly to reassess their monthly entertainment budget. The new price of the lowest-tier plan also narrows the options for users who want to reduce spending with more limited features. The rise in the 12-month totals shows that the difference in the monthly fee is not a one-off expense but an accumulating burden for as long as the subscription remains active. This situation may not affect subscribers in different income groups to the same extent; however, for current users, the key question is not only whether to pay the new fee, but also whether their frequency of use justifies the cost and whether to continue the subscription.
