Jack Lowden’s remarks
Competition is heating up in the James Bond race, and “there are 4 candidates for 007.” The race is nearing its end. Amazon MGM Studios is reported to be planning screen tests with 4 actors for the franchise’s new film, and the race is also said to be drawing to a close.
According to Deadline’s Thursday report, Jack Lowden is among the three actors who have been offered a screen test.
Jacob Elordi timeline
Callum Turner and Josh O’Connor are also on the list. The fourth name has not yet been confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter, meanwhile, reported that Jack O’Connell and Jacob Elordi, whose names had been mentioned, will not take part in the auditions. Sources noted that while there is no definite schedule, the final auditions could begin this week and continue into next week, and that an announcement could be made before the year is out.
Timothy Dalton’s statements
Casting director Debbie McWilliams, who previously played a role in the selection of Timothy Dalton, also performed the same duty in the selection of Pierce Brosnan. She also took part in the casting of Daniel Craig. McWilliams had previously argued on this subject that Bond should remain “a complete enigma,” saying that actors’ private lives should be little known.
The search for the villain role continues.
Dragon Aemond timeline
It is claimed that the producers are considering 29-year-old Ewan Mitchell, who portrays Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon, for the villain role. The producers are said to be looking for a promising name rather than a well-known star. The new film will follow No Time to Die, in which Daniel Craig played Bond for the last time and which hit theaters in October 2021. Amazon took over control of the franchise by acquiring MGM Studios in January 2025.
