Cohere Announces Enterprise AI Agent Platform Called North 2
A modern office workspace

Cohere has unveiled North 2, the new version of its enterprise AI agent platform North. Presented as the company’s most comprehensive update to date, the release includes a revamped agent orchestration system, cost controls, security features, and new integrations.

The new orchestration system can manage multi-step processes with natural language commands; human approval can be obtained at critical stages. The Memory feature allows agents to retain context across sessions, Skills enables the reuse of capabilities, and Libraries allows the creation of shared knowledge pools. Users can prepare presentations, documents, and dashboards within the chat; ready-made templates and a drag-and-drop workflow builder are offered.

Tools the platform can connect to:

  • Slack, SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Jira, Linear, Notion, and GitHub
  • Financial integrations in the works: PitchBook, Crunchbase, Daloopa, FiscalAI, S&P Global, FactSet

The North Admin panel tracks token usage; administrators can set limits and receive alerts when approaching the cap. The platform, built on a model-agnostic architecture, offers agent-based security rules; it can run on company infrastructure, in a private cloud, or in air-gapped systems.
