CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı said in a statement at the Diyarbakır Provincial Directorate that he had been influenced by the political stance of the people in the city, who have made politics a way of life.
Sarı said that CHP had weathered the brief turbulence following internal divisions, adding that the 103-year-old party, which founded the state and built the nation, was necessary to resolve Turkey’s deep-rooted problems in the second century of the Republic. Saying that CHP could not remain outside the resolution processes, Sarı noted that the party would continue on its path despite the divisions.
Sarı said they attached importance to the current political conjuncture in which the security bureaucracy of the Republic of Turkey, the government, the opposition and the social consensus had come together to resolve the long-standing issue. He called for the matter to be openly debated in parliament and for broad agreement to be sought.
Sarı said they supported the “Turkey Without Terrorism” process, adding that laying down arms alone would not be enough and that the issue needed to be addressed in all its dimensions.
Sarı said they had discussed the roadmap at the Abant camp and would conduct an election campaign centered on economic and social problems, adding that elections would be held “in 2027.” He said CHP would grow with its Kurds.
