Justice Minister Akın Gürlek spoke at the 10th Provincial Executive Boards Training Camp organized by the Turkish Youth Foundation (TÜGVA) in Kızılcahamam. Noting that the foundation has touched the lives of more than 1.5 million young people through the activities it has carried out throughout the year, Gürlek emphasized that protecting young people is their foremost priority. He stated that there will be no stepping back in the face of criminal networks targeting the future of young people.
Gürlek said that the goal of a “Terror-Free Turkey” offers a historic opportunity for social unity, and called on young people not to fall for provocations and incitements, and instead to turn toward efforts that will strengthen the home front. Saying that Turkey is a hope for oppressed societies around the world, Gürlek reacted to Israel’s policies in the region.
Gürlek also touched on the Gülistan Doku investigation, recounting that after he took office, the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor conveyed important information to him. Stating that the Chief Prosecutor shared his assessments that the incident was not a suicide and that the son of a senior civil administrator at the time had a connection to the incident, Gürlek said he had examined the file and noted that the investigation is being pursued to the very end, no matter whom it may reach. Gürlek added that they are resolutely fighting unsolved cases and that the state will certainly shed light on them.
