According to Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, Apple may unveil its long-developed smart home display in October and could bring forward its plan to launch the device by the end of 2026. Tested in employees’ homes, the product will serve as a central interface for controlling smart devices, family communication, media and Apple services.

The compact device with a square display will be dedicated to Siri and run an operating system featuring elements of iOS, tvOS and watchOS. Siri will provide access to account information, songs, podcasts, photos and apps. The camera will support video calls and person recognition. It will include Calendar, Notes, Reminders, music and video, and smart home controls; an iPhone will be required for setup. Siri delays had postponed the launch.
