Anker’s new MindBase is an AI-powered brain for your smart home
Smart home hub in a modern living room

Anker introduced MindBase, a local AI hub for Eufy security cameras, as part of IFA 2026 in Berlin. Positioned by the company as “the central brain of the home,” the device will be able to process footage without sending it outside the home using a large language model developed by Anker that runs on the device. MindBase’s price and release date were not announced.

In addition to security, MindBase will support new AI tools for energy management and robot vacuums. Operating as a Matter 1.5 controller, the device will support more than 40 device categories, including lights, sensors and HVAC systems; integration with third-party Matter-compatible cameras is planned. MindBase will be compatible with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Home Assistant, and will include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread and Zigbee. The system will support 16 wireless cameras, four wired cameras and 34 sensors.

Thanks to expandable storage of up to 48TB and a dedicated AI chip, the system will offer features such as natural-language searches across recordings, event summaries, and detection of faces, people, vehicles, pets and strangers. No monthly fee will be charged for these functions. The new Smart Security Shield sensor will use 180-degree dual radar; family members and friends will be recognized through digital credentials on their phones, reducing unnecessary alerts.

TrackLight Cam S1, which will work with MindBase, will offer 4K resolution, automatic tracking with lighting, and 180-degree dual-radar detection. The wired Eufy S4 video doorbell launching this week will sell for $299.99 and include a 180-by-180-degree field of view, AI-powered tracking, automatic zoom, 3K recording, 64GB storage and Wi-Fi 6. Panoramic views can be panned using movements on a phone.

The $70 E10 window camera, launching at the end of the year, will be installed inside the window and provide color night vision and on-device person and sound detection. The new Eufy Fall Detection Sensor will detect falls and initiate voice control; it will offer two-way communication and will not require a subscription.

Why it matters

MindBase is changing the approach to privacy and subscription costs by enabling home security recordings to be processed locally instead of in the cloud. Support for Matter and compatibility with different smart home platforms could allow Eufy users to manage their lighting, climate control, sensors and camera systems from a single hub. If the planned integration of third-party cameras goes ahead, the device could become more than a hub tied solely to Anker products; however, the scope of this support is not yet clear. High storage capacity and natural-language searches across recordings could make it easier for homes with many cameras to find and review footage. At the same time, the lack of an announced price and release date for MindBase leaves open the fundamental question of how accessible this local, subscription-free model will be.
