Amedspor President Nahit Eren: We will not allow anyone to create a different agenda through Amedspor
Press conference table with microphones

Amedspor President Nahit Eren and High Advisory Board Chairman Nesih Aktepe met with members of the press at the Şehmus Özer Facilities. Eren said they were pleased with the public and media interest in the club, but did not consider it right for a new topic of criticism to be created every day. Stating that criticism should be constructive, Eren said they would not allow different agendas to be created through Amedspor.

Eren said that Amedspor is an important club supported by millions and bearing the responsibility of representing its city, society and the geography in which it exists, adding that they are determined to preserve the positive atmosphere that has emerged and continue in the Süper Lig.

Noting that there is intense demand for ticket sales, Eren said PASO had described this interest as the highest demand it had seen since its establishment. Saying that the 30 thousand-seat stadium does not meet demand, Eren stated that they had held talks with public institutions and were working to admit more fans by reducing the number of youth players and staff entering the stadium. Eren also said that some groups damaged the gates and materials in the stadium, and that the necessary measures had not been taken despite pre-match meetings.

Why it matters

The remarks show that Amedspor is assessed not only through its sporting results but also through the relationship of representation it has established with the city and society. Therefore, the form of criticism between the management, the press and the public is of direct importance in terms of preserving the positive atmosphere that has formed around the club. The gap between ticket demand and stadium capacity makes visible the structural limitation the club faces in meeting interest; the fact that efforts to find a solution are being conducted with public institutions shows that the issue is not one the club management can overcome on its own. The unresolved question in terms of match-day security is whether measures to prevent damage to gates and materials can be implemented and how capacity pressure will affect supporter access.
