WhatsApp’s Apple Watch app has begun offering a full emoji picker instead of the six preset options previously available for reacting to messages. The feature, rolled out on September 21, appears when a message is pressed and held or when the reaction button is opened, and is gradually reaching accounts using the latest version. According to WABetaInfo, the menu allows users to browse categories on the small screen and quickly access frequently used emojis. The update works for incoming messages in group and one-on-one chats; reactions are also visible on iPhone, the web and desktop. Although the update is available for free on the App Store, it may not appear immediately due to server-side distribution; no setting, subscription or new device is required. WhatsApp on Apple Watch supports message reading, quick replies, voice messages and call notifications. For detailed chat settings, comprehensive media management and some privacy options, users need to return to the iPhone app. The app works with the paired iPhone account. Keeping the apps on both devices up to date is sufficient for use.
