Apple announced that Siri AI, powered by generative AI, will be made available as a beta under iOS 27 on 14 September. Initially, only users whose device language is set to English will have access.
Apple will add support for French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Portuguese with iOS 27.1 in October. Siri AI will not support Turkish at launch; when other languages will arrive has not been announced.
Why it matters
The phased rollout means that access to Siri AI will not begin for all users at the same time, and the device language will be a determining factor in the initial access requirements. Although the scope of the October expansion has become partly clear for those who do not use English, it remains uncertain how long users of languages not included on the list will have to wait. Turkish-speaking users will therefore be outside the initial beta program, and the announced schedule will not include a date set for them. The warning regarding the reference to 2026 in the council notes indicates that information inconsistent with the schedule in the news article must be removed before publication.
Background
Siri is not a new name in the FikirPilot archive: we published a news article mentioning this name in the last 90 days; that article is dated 11 September 2026.
