The BIGWORDS framework
Displaying text on a computer screen usually requires manual effort; this becomes even more cumbersome when multiple devices with different sizes and capabilities are involved. BIGWORDS.PAGE, developed by SpeakingOfBrad, solves this problem: thanks to a simple web page controlled via a specially crafted URL, text displays can be distributed to browsers on other devices with a single link.
The project’s MIT echoes
For example, simply pointing the browser to https://bigwords.page/#Hackaday is enough; by adding a few values, the font and colors can be changed. The visual editor also generates ready-made links. The tool also supports:
- displaying images
- countdown timers
- animated presentations spanning multiple pages
The project was released under the MIT license; the documentation includes instructions for hosting your own version for those who want to support screens on a local network without connecting to the internet.
