In a US lawsuit over Apple’s Taptic Engine technology, a jury found that two of Taction Technology’s patents had been infringed and awarded $5 billion 721 million 961 thousand 750 in damages. The patents:

The patents cover systems that provide haptic feedback to the skin through vibrations. In the lawsuit filed in 2021, Taction argued that Apple’s Taptic Engine, used for notifications and key presses, infringed its patents. The jury found that the infringement was not willful, but rejected Apple’s invalidity defense. The technology was used in the Apple Watch in 2014, and in the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus a year later. Apple announced that it would appeal the decision. Taction said it was pleased with the verdict and had waited approximately five and a half years. Transporter technology is featured in Corsair’s HS60 Haptic headset.
