The Capital Markets Board (SPK) responded with a written statement to a claim made in Hürriyet columnist Abdülkadir Selvi’s column today. Selvi had claimed that in a report Borsa Istanbul sent to the investigation units, warnings regarding suspicious funds had been issued 130 times since 2025, but that the SPK had not taken this into account.

SPK timeline

The SPK stated that the number of information notes regarding the funds in question did not reflect reality, reporting that all notifications received from Borsa Istanbul were meticulously evaluated and that the necessary sanctions were imposed.

According to the statement, the SPK imposed administrative fines of 2 billion 741 million TL in 2025 and 948 million TL in the first nine months of 2026. Criminal complaints were filed against 152 people in 2025 and 174 people in 2026; 96 of the complaints in 2026 were related to fund transactions.
